Note: | My Mother was Phillipa Joan Kidd, daughter of Raymond Robert Kidd and Mary Moore. I never knew my maternal grandfather as he left Mary when my mother was born. I did meet him once in my teens but my Uncle Bob - Mums older brother had more contact. Mary lived with us while she was dying of tuberculosis having nursed her own father with the same illness. Mary lived with us when she was I'll but because she died of tuberculosis absolutely everything of hers was ordered to be destroyed. Amusing as us children were all there - escaped the order but not the photos or the teapot! My grandfather left uncle Bob a brief note on his ancestry including the maternal Scott line and that Captain Kidds farm was a bit further north than his grandfathers at grange o'Barry - although provable tenuous relationship with a brother as all BC Kidds in C Dundee are said to be related. Robert Raymond McEwan Kidd was the son of Robert Kidd who came from Crieff to Richmond Australia then to Birkenhead Auckland. I have the book on early Chelsea workers and photos of my grandmother as a young girl at the Methodist Church. He was cremated and a plaque with ashes is next to his Fathers in the Anglican graveyard in Birkenhead. I went there with Mum but it's a very overgrown area under the trees. The Police traced Mum who was left with the aftermath when he died. He had been living in lodgings, no assets and despite having ignored her all his life she took care of him at that stage. I could not find a lot about the Kidds at Grange O'Barry except several bred Clydesdale horses. |
