Henry Thomas Hickton and his wife, Elizabeth & 2 daughters sailed from England on the "Bolton" 1842. They bought what is now The Gables in the late 1840's for 30 pounds. See Louisa Worsfold p. 1, 46 (Clara Hickton) and Tides of History p. 137, 145, 153 (H.R.Hickton) and p. 25, 35, 378 (Capt. Barker). Henry is listed in the Clendon Census (1846) as a baker. We have photos of Martha the eldest daughter who married an American Frederick Barker (1729) and Ann (1730) who married an English Captain Greg Norris. Clara Hickton married John Bernard Williams a local family.
